Rambler | HT500

Expandable cargo pack

A slightly smaller version of Mission Workshop’s iconic Vandal pack, the Rambler brings the same highly adaptable and utility-focused functionality. This means it’s perfect for travelling, hauling groceries or any scenario requiring flexible storage. Why? Because its unique design has the ability to double in size, expanding from 22 litres to 44 litres. With a carbon fibre reinforced internal framesheet and comfortable, breathable shoulder straps, it’s a capable load-hauler even when fully weighted. What’s more, five compartments make it easy to stay organised. The Rambler also features waterproof fabrics and water-resistant zippers for added peace of mind in wet weather – including a VX version made from VX-21, an advanced textile with virtually unmatched abrasion, tear, and weather resistance per gram weight.

    • Four compartments
    • Roll-top or flap-down closure
    • Internal framesheet
    • AustriAlpin COBRA quick-release buckle (standard on Black Camo version, optional on other versions)
    • Optional waist belt – sold separately
    • Made in the USA
    • External Dimensions : 33 × 48 × 13 cm
    • Internal Volume : 22 L (44 L Expanded)
    • Weight: 1.67 kg
    • Fabric: HT500
    • Black Diamond Ripstop liner
  • Mission Workshop was born in San Francisco in 2009, down a nondescript alleyway surrounded by taquerias and dive bars. A small but passionate team spent months being covered in steel splinters, sheet rock dust and mouldy insulation, transforming an old warehouse into a shiny new workspace.

From here, they embarked on a single-minded mission: to fuse timeless design, modern construction and cutting-edge materials in the pursuit of bags and packs built to last a lifetime. In their own words, the workshop was created “out of the desire to build gear as tough as it is beautiful”.

To be fair, those at the heart of the brand have plenty of pedigree in this area. Co-founder Mark Falvai was one of the brains behind technical cycling brand Chrome Industries, whose signature messenger bags have become the bag of choice for pro bike couriers living and working in some of the world’s biggest and busiest cities.

Mission Workshop abides by the same ethos. Their packs come with a promise to dependably get you out and back, time and again, no matter the conditions – and make your day-to-day just that little bit better, whatever the mission.
