Ultralight shelter engineered for two wheels
Bikepacking presents a unique packing problem: brilliant gear that's too long to fit anywhere sensible. Big Agnes' Copper Spur UL Bikepack solves this with a 12-inch Shortstik pole system that packs down to 38cm, short enough to strap across your handlebars or slide into a frame bag without creating a jousting lance. The proprietary HyperBead fabric technology is 6% lighter, 25% more waterproof, and 50% stronger than traditional coatings – engineered to survive season after season of being strapped to your bike and battered by whatever weather you ride through. At just 1.04kg trail weight for the 1-person, it's properly ultralight without the tissue-paper fragility. The waterproof stuff sack doubles as a dry bag with integrated Big Hitch straps for mounting anywhere on your rig. Freestanding design means you can pitch on less-than-ideal ground, which is often what you get when you're following trails rather than designated campsites.

Big Agnes is a small, independent US outdoor brand out of Steamboat Springs, Colorado – a small ski-town that we’ve never visited but which we like to imagine is full of mountain-loving, trail-hiking outdoorsy types. That would make sense, since the company makes some of the best ultralight backpacking gear around, including the award-winning Copper Spur, Tiger Wall and Fly Creek tents. It is kit that has clearly been designed by a gang of folks who love sleeping in the dirt just as much as we do here at WildBounds.
Oh, and if you’re still wondering where the heck that name Big Agnes comes from, we did try to find out. Depending on who you talk to, it’s either an affectionate tribute to a legendary truck drivin’ mountain mama, or a 12,000 foot peak in the Mount Zirkel Wilderness. We kinda like the first one better.
